Webinar: System Design, Retrofits, and Field Techniques to Prevent Fires in PV Systems

The Solar ABCs held a webinar with Bill Brooks of Brooks Engineering for the utility and solar industries focusing on PV system design, retrofit options, and field techniques to prevent fires. Over the past several years, fires have occurred in PV systems. The cause of these fires are now well understood and mitigation methods exist that can prevent them from occurring. This webinar provided a brief overview of the research that provided this understanding funded by the U.S. Department of Energy through the Solar ABCs and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The webinar also covered the field techniques that can identify potential problems before they occur. Lastly, the webinar also discussed design and equipment methods that can effectively prevent fires from occurring in PV systems.  Below are the webinar materials:
